Riding In Style with Sydney's Closet

I attended the Black Tie Tailgate Gala for the Philadelphia Auto Show on Friday, January 29. I've attend the event three times and each time has been very enjoyable. It's charitable event for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and is one of the most anticipated event within the auto show event itself. I love any opportunity to dress up, but definitely when it's for a great cause. The bright shiny new cars provide a great backdrop for this night of glitz & glam. The night was filled with a beautiful array of shimmery, shiny sequin, ladies in lace, bold colors, classic black, and jewel tones. The cars were nice too!

This year, I was honored to wear a gorgeous gown by Sydney's Closet. It's a gown from their Tease Prom collection which just goes to show that the right gown can be worn to any formal occasion. This gown could easily be featured under their "Signature Formal Dresses". When I first received it the bodice alone absolutely took my breath away! So much sparkle! That and the flow of the circle mesh skirt made me fall in love with the gown. I couldn't wait to wear it!

I wasn't sure if I would be able to get a good shot while attending the event, so I took shots earlier in the day to ensure that I was able to highlight the beautiful features of the dress. I received many compliments throughout the night and fit right in among all the glamourous gowns that made the rounds on the floor of the Philadelphia Convention Center that evening. Check out the Tease Prom collection as well as the other beautiful offerings from Sydney's Closet's main site for a wonderful selection of plus size formal wear.

Dress: Sydney's Closet 2016 Tease Prom Collection TE1602 in Black (wearing size 20)

*Styling notes: I had alterations on the bodice (which is only beaded in the front) as it was too big. This is typical for me. If you need alterations in this area, choose a good seamstress who will take care ensure each bead remains sown in place as some may come loose during the alterations. Also, the v-shaped neckline is low so if you do have alterations ensure that enough is taken in to give you the exposure you're comfortable with. Lastly, as you see in the pictures here and on the Tease Prom website, the padding in the bodice does show through either faintly or significantly in different lighting. It won't take away from the beauty of the dress, but I wanted to note it for 'real life' expectations. Check my IG page to see photos from the actual auto show.

The company featured in this post sent me their product in exchange for my review.  All opinions are my own and based on my personal experience with the product. No affiliate links are featured in this post.

This dress was shot on location at the beautiful Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees, NJ. It's an absolutely lovely wedding & special event facility in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area. If you're looking for a gorgeous space for your next event, check it out!
