This Twilight Has No Sequel

This dress shows up great in any light
I attended the Philadelphia Tribune's 130th Anniversary Gala held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Thursday, November 19. This gorgeous Twilight gown was the perfect dress for the event. It was a drenching rainy night, but this Sydney's Closet dress held up like a champ. The event marked a truly momentous occasion for country's oldest news publication dedicated to covering issues that are pivotal to the black community. Notable state dignitaries attended the event including Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. It was an honor to be able to participate in the celebration of this iconic entity in the Philadelphia area.

See what I mean? This was just for fun.
Now ladies (and gentlemen if you're reading as well)...when I tell you this is one of the most comfortable gowns I've ever worn - I. Am. Not. Kidding.  The soft jersey material coupled with timeless lace bodice made me fall in love with the classic style of the gown at first site. But actually wearing it was a dream! I can't recall ever wearing a formal gown that was that comfortable...hence, the idea that it might be at tough act to follow (e.g. sequel) on that end.

Close up of the details (I mean you've seen my face, but have you seen this dress?)
Lace has never gone out of style. It is the quintessential mark of femininity. As I've mentioned in previous posts, you must envision yourself dressed from head to toe when styling a look for a formal event.  The classic look of this gown called for something slightly dramatic so I went with long, full curls for my hairstyle of the evening. I wanted a dark, rich "beat" for my face so I went with that as well.

Center of attention - Twilight by Sydney's Closet
I wore a pair of black peep toe heels which fit the bill for comfort (inasmuch as heels can be comfortable) and style for the evening. The dress is so long that you could really wear just about anything you want, but if you're going to make a point to show of your shoes at some point during the evening, do keep it classy and make the right choice!

As an exclusive plus formal wear designer, Sydney's Closet knows how to dress the plus size fashionistas for all our elegant evening wear needs. You will not be disappointed if you go with this for your next formal affair. I know it might be taboo to wear a gown twice, but forget that...I actually can't wait for the opportunity to wear this one again! I guess maybe it will have a sequel after all...

Me looking at you saying "so when are you going to get this dress?"
