Blue Envy with ASOS

The month long "Colors of Love" collaboration with Bianca of Curvaceously Bee is still underway! Have you been following us via our blogs and on IG & Facebook using #bellaandbeecolorsoflove? If so, let us know!

So you know the phrase "green with envy"? After folks see you in this dress, they'll have to change the color! The rich navy color made this dress hard to pass up when I saw it on ASOS. I look at navy the same way I look at black...lovingly! It's equally versatile and just as classic.

This is a dress you want to have stashed away in your closet for a last minute invitation to a formal affair. You'll be able to pull it out, throw on some fancy footwear & accessories, and be out the door in no time. If you haven't guessed by now, I'm a classic girl. I like to keep it simple because so much in life is already complicated. So when I see navy I think silver and that's what I went with for this look. But please feel free to splash on some color with it to spice things up.

The dress is super comfortable with a little stretch, but not so much that you couldn't go with your true dress size. The v-shaped neckline and small peek-a-boo split offer just enough action to keep things interesting. And you already know how I feel about the length right? Love. It.

I got this on sale a while ago and I'm glad to see it's still available. Though it's not on sale as of this writing, I think it's still worth the investment as I think you'll be able to get your money's worth. So go ahead and grab this up and wear it right away to the party you have coming up or store it for the one you haven't heard about yet, but will be ready to roll when the time comes!

Dress: Club L Plus Maxi Dress with Cape (wearing size 20)
Shoes & clutch: DSW

*Styling notes: Although you might not be able to tell from the pictures on the website, this dress will hug your curves. If you've got hips for days like yours truly the dress will show it. I'm personally glad I didn't go up a size, however, for fear of it being too big in places I wouldn't want it to be. Feel free to play with sizing if you want a little more room in the dress itself, but just expect the upper portion to potentially be a little longer and looser.
