The Royal Treatment with Sydney's Closet

The month of February is the shortest month of the year, but it's packed with important occasions and celebrations. Since I'm a hopeless romantic, we'll be celebrating love all month long! I'm starting off with formal wear because that's my passion here at Big Bella Donna Fashion (and no, I didn't mean for that sentence to rhyme!). At some point this year, you'll be invited to a formal affair. I want you to think of BBDF when considering where you can go to find looks for your next gown or formal dress.

This gown is from the exclusive plus size designer, Sydney's Closet. You've seen several gowns from Sydney's Closet on the blog and that's because I truly believe they have a great selection of gorgeous gowns for any formal occasion. This "Starburst" gown is their most popular gown. It comes in nine colors, including a white version that is a favorite among brides. This dress is so popular that they're adding three new colors for Spring 2016 bringing the total to a dozen to choose from.

At any event on or around Valentine's Day, you'll see a 'red sea' since (like Christmas time) red is the go to color on this holiday. But there are plenty of colors to choose from that also show love, so feel free to branch out a little and choose a different color for your Love Day look. Now that said, this gown is absolutely stunning in red and if you want to be a traditionalist, you'll no doubt want to get it in that color. But I couldn't resist the royal look & feel of the gown in purple. It's just so regal!

If you're shopping for a Sweetheart's Ball or other formal party for Valentine's Day be sure to check out the latest from Sydney's Closet.

Dress: Sydney's Closet Starburst (SC 7071) (wearing size 20)

*Styling notes: This dress has a full, flowy A-line design which will surely make you feel like a princess at a ball (tiara sold separately). It's rhinestone 'starburst' design in the bodice is pretty much an accessory in itself so there's no need to go overboard with jewelry. I wore strappy rhinestones heels and I'd suggest keeping the silver/rhinestone them going with shoes and jewelry to compliment the style of the dress.

The company featured in this post sent me their product in exchange for my review.  All opinions are my own and based on my personal experience with the product. Some affiliate links are featured in this post.

This dress was shot on location at the beautiful Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees, NJ. It's an absolutely lovely wedding & special event facility in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area. If you're looking for a great space for your next event, check it out!
